555 based AM radio transmitter – Hack a Day

Bust out that 555 timer and use it to build your own AM radio transmitter. The circuit that [Rtty21] is using only needs the timer chip, an NPN transistor, three caps, three resistors, and a potentiometer. It generates an amplitude modulation signal around the 600 kHz range which you will be able to pick up with any normal AM radio. From the comments on the article it seems you’ll get around 30-40 feet of range out of the device. We don’t see this as a competitor for the FM spy microphone, but maybe you can use it as a diy baby monitor.

I like this. Exactly what I have been looking for. You see, since quite some time, I have been wondering of starting an organic, vertical garden, when I move into my own house. And I have been wondering where I could get the right information and help to be able to do this. Now these people sound promising. iGROW – Terrace & Balconies – Initiatives – Purna Organics

Its been 25 days since I posted some updates. A lot of work has been completed, and grounds covered. I even had a trip with the architect to finalise window and door positions, and by now the carpenter has been given the orders. Accordingly wall works started and finished. Tommorow Lintel laying will happen, including staircase centring.

Last friday the devil came home:-) .. just something I picked up waiting at NGEF traffic junction. I actually decided to wear that through the rest of the ride home. It being dark inside the car, gave quite a shock to some passer by’s. I remember this one women who was driving in a WagonR, I could see the shock on on her face, it was funny, she tried following me to see if it was real! Hehe…

The bank just released the first cheque for the loan amount against construction. This means the bullet train starts full speed now. Now bank headache is over, thanks to this guy named Naveen, he has helped a lot in the banking process. He is from the sales department in the bank. Now construction can run full speed without brakes. Looking forward to moving into my own house in 5 months time, and ofcourse newer headaches now. Hehe!!
